Job Description

The design/drafting supervisor will be responsible for the leadership, administration and coordination of the leading edge facilities design operation, involving the production of design deliverables using PDMS and AutoCad type design and drafting tools by a multi-discipline senior design team. You will factor in the strategic direction of both WorleyParsons Muscat and the global facilities design community through the management of engineering and design tool development and the establishment of staff competence.

Responsibilities:

• Overall accountability for Design production deliverables, identifying resource shortfall (staff, infrastructure and/or tools) and supplying expedient and expeditious resolution to achieve project promises.
• Provide oversight management of contract services, license agreements, section budgets and ensuring that facilities design deliverables are of exemplary quality.
• Create and maintain a strong working relationship with peers
• Shape the future of facilities design in WorleyParsons Muscat in tool development, competence assurance and working in a global portfolio environment.
• Manage a skill group of Design and Drafting professionals representing the full spectrum of in-depth technical discipline expertise required for the Engineering and Project Management.
• Ensure that projects technical reviews are conducted, approved work processes are utilized
• Identify, assess, develop and deploy technologies, systems, and work processes to achieve breakthrough performance.
• Promote application of new technologies / methodologies.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and development of staff to ensure technical capacities and capabilities are available, including active participation in recruiting process.

• Requires a minimum of an associates degree or equivalency in the computer drafting or engineering technology related field with at least 14+ years of experience in applying the discipline skill(s) to oil gas facilities projects drafting disciplines.
• Has a strong background in FEED and detailed design projects, as well as piping, structural, electrical, instrumentation and P&ID knowledge.
• Is knowledgeable of PDMS, REVIEW, and AutoCAD (to include PDMS database administration knowledge and software exposure).
• Is proficient in the use of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project) and strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must possess strong interpersonal skills and openness to deal with diverse ways of working, behaviours, and cultures while demonstrating coaching/mentoring mentality in support of a learning organization.
• Is knowledgeable of Shell & Industry codes and standards that apply to design disciplines.
• Demonstrate repeatability and constant improvement in projects across a broad range of geographic, technical and cultural differences.
• Develop best practices, work processes, system and tools, based on experience gained in a portfolio of independent projects.

Pipeline Designer - Muscat, Oman – AMEA

• Understand the requirements of the design quality system and meticulously ensure that these requirements are met
• Plan workload and type of work for other team members (with various qualifications) efficiently and ensure timely completion of the job.
• Support design/drawing office personnel with specialist engineering input.
• Produce presentable and accurate drawings, including a consistency check.
• Be aware of, and check, the interface between his own discipline and other disciplines at all stages of the design.
• Ensure that all team members adhere strictly to Company safety regulations/standards. Understanding and knowledge Shell Group DEP’s. and International Standards
• Full understanding of “non-standard” vendor documentation and its interface points with Company engineering documents.
• Sound judgement: throughout the years various “standards” have been used in all the stations. Decisions are to be made based on acceptable quality for the custodian.

• A minimum HND or Diploma in Engineering.

• Support design/drawing office personnel with specialist engineering input.
• Prepare requisitions and technical evaluation of bids for discipline material and equipment procurement.
• Ensure equipment vendors provide timely and quality input into design packages. Review all third party discipline design work.
• Ensure design packages meet the relevant safety, environmental and ergonomic standards.
• Understand the contract quality management system and ensure these requirements are met.
• Participate in and sometimes lead, discipline design reviews.

• Experience shall encompass oil, gas, water, multi-phase pipelines of all classes, greenfield as well as brownfield expansion of existing pipeline networks.
• Experience of shutdown tie-in work to existing lines is required. Fully conversant with pipeline design codes (API5L, API6D, NACE, ANSI/ASME B31.4, 31.8, VIII, IX).
• Experience with GRE pipelines, hot tapping and stoppling of pipelines.
• Degree in discipline specific engineering (B.Sc./M.Sc./B.Eng.) is required.

Production Planning Engineer - Oman

Our clients are a leading provider of professional services to the energy, resources and complex processes industries. They have immediate openings for the following skills:

General Purpose of the Job:

• To carry out all activities related to optimizing short term, scheduling and medium term production planning to meet local off takes requirements.

• Monitoring daily tank farm log-sheets / Entis report for intermediate LPG re-injection fuel oil solid Sulfur and products status with respect to plan available tank age utilization and product movement.
• Prepares instruction to operation personnel through unit’s regulation sheet showing daily production, feed intakes local demands, export, re-injection etc.
• Compares daily unit yields and products quality reports against targets and identifies deviations for corrective action.
• Closely liaises with operation personnel & laboratory technicians to follow up on progress of blend, product transfers, tank to tank transfers, evaluates status and continuously updated instruction to optimize operations.
• Maintains regularly update statistical database of daily production rates, laboratory results, finished product qualities, deliveries and other related information for historical trend analysis
• Monitors closely fuel oil lifting programs in liaison with PDO scheduling department to avoid tanks tops situations or unavailability of cargo sizes.
• Utilizes PIMs LP modeling to optimize the blends
• Assists in sourcing of products from overseas markets if needs arises.
• Preparers for imports to meet demands to cover for shutdowns in coordination with production Engineer.
• Avoid/ minimizes demurrage claims when planning for fuel oil export.
• Maximizes LR re-injection to meet targets.
• Analyses effect of unexpected interruption to processing on immediate and forward planned product movement.
• Liaison with shipping brokers to rent / hire ORC charted vessel on idle situation in order to minimize operating cost on ORC.
• Calculates and forecasts availability of different grades of products based on day to day unit throughputs and check alternatives with respect to tank age allocation, parcel size, qualities and blend requirements to meet local demands.
• Contacts laboratory regarding qualities of various products streams and appraises senior production planning Engineer/Manager regarding the effect on Planning made and tries to correct it.
• Meets operations personnel, technical engineers and implements planned activities with close monitoring.
• Prepare tenders for terms contracts for fuel oil, LPG & solid Sulfur export on yearly basis.
• Takes responsibilities of production officer in his/her absence.
• Ensure 3rd party inspection is covering all activates function related to refinery.Supervises and coordinates with PDO / Shell various functions related to berthing of ships/ tankers loading of fuel oil and refined products for Raysut depot at SBM-3

• Degree in chemical engineering with 8-10 years experience in production planning in a Refinery set up which includes 6 years experience in scheduling, blending activities, etc.
• Excellent skills to adopt to new technology while working in planning section.
• Skills in communication with vessel agents, shipments, shipmasters and loading arrangements.
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate with associated and client

Mechanical Completions Engineer - (Commissioning, Pre-commissioning Exp.) - Oman

• Urgently required to monitor and push the contractor in achieving Mechanical Completion of the systems.
• Candidate will assist and oversee the preparation of Punch Lists on system walk downs.
• Candidate will assist in ensuring that 'as-built'drawings are properly recorded by the contractor and passed to the Muscat office for any back-drafting.

• Fully conversant with pipeline design codes (API5L, API6D, NACE, ANSI/ASME B31.4, 31.8, VIII, IX).


• Experience with GRE pipelines, hot tapping and stoppling of pipelines.


• Degree in discipline specific engineering (B.Sc./M.Sc./B.E. / B.Tech.) is required.


• Minimum of 15 years oil & gas engineering experience (of which 4 years upstream).


• Experience in conceptual, front end and detailed design required (minimum 10 years experience in an engineering design company).


• Fully conversant with relevant international standards.


• Experience with Company and/or Shell Group projects and standards (SPs / ERDs and DEPs) is strongly preferred.


• Field experience in construction & commissioning strongly preferred.
