Job Description :

Review engineering drawings (post order) /data sheets (pre order) and looking at the manufacturability of the equipments w.r.t. available resources.
Attend Design review meetings, to look at the manufacturability of drawings and suggest all new non-standard jigs & fixtures needed.
Identify the requirement of new machines/resources and/or to upgrade the available resources (machines).
for complex work that may need specialized human resource, he will also be required to assist/suggest to manufacturing managers the requirement of these human resources.
Work hand in hand with corporate procurement and manufacturing to identify and locate new machines, after the requirement is approved by Business Head.
Approve the new machine/ technically evaluate the machines, before the finalization of the order. Wherever needed, he will take support from manufacturing departments to evaluate the machines.
Work out the justification and pay back period for all new machines and major resource up-gradation expenses, along with maintenance manager.
Review the progress of order placement and timely receipt of new machines.
Plan the manufacturing sequence of complex equipments. Wherever required, he will himself and/or with the help of Design dept., design jigs and fixtures required to make the equipments.
Design fixtures to control welding distortions during fabrication along with the welding engineering department.
Identify, along with Head- Mfg, areas for automation in manufacturing activities, wherever possible and needed. He will also work with other departments/vendors to design and implement the automation. He will be required to justify the need for automation, returns on investment etc.
Carryout the work and motion study, to look at the inefficiencies in manufacturing operations. He will then be required to suggest improvements.
Set production norms, wherever possible. He will also find out the industry benchmarks.

Educational Qualification : Degree or Diploma in Mechanical / Production.

Essential Experience : 12 to 15 Years in Production Engineering in Fabrication Industries dealing with Manufacturing of Heat Exchangers, Pressure Vessels, Columns, Reactors etc.

Preferred Experience : Relevant experience in Fabrication / Welding required as per International Codes like ASME, A D Merkblatter, and TEMA etc.

Special Skills Required :

Knowledge of sequence of Manufacturing and processes, International codes & Procedures, Baan, ISO systems & procedures.
Procurement Procedures, Time & Motion study exercise.

Job Description :

Conducting classroom /practical training for government apprentices /co-trainees & workmen in various trades like fitter, welders, grinders, multi-skilling etc in various batches every week, as per schedule / division’s requirement
To ensure safe practices are followed during training process.
To carry out the candidates assessment /certification thru appropriate tests in theory & practical
To develop the candidate for the welder qualification in various process like –SMAW, SAW, GTAW etc as per ASME sec IX code requirement
To ensure maintaining good working environment, safe practices and good housekeeping, discipline is maintained in training centre. during training as per company rule
To monitor and control costs of training remain lower than the budget.
Compliance system of ISO-9001& ISO-14001 & Safety OSHAS 18001.
Maintaining training history in the Computerized System.
Co-ordination / Interaction with various depts. in manufacturing for smooth flow of training process
Working knowledge of the various international codes like ASME, TEMA, A D MERKBLATTER, CHINESE SQL REQUIREMENTS etc.
Adopting new ways and means in training like Study of drawings/ literature, to adopt latest technology for productivity, quality products and a better work culture.
Identification / developing tooling, fixtures and gauges required for training.
Knowledge of NDT techniques as per ASME Codes

Essential Qualification:

B.E /Diploma (Mechanical/ Production Engineering).

Essential Experience :

02 years

Planning and Estimation of Welding Consumables.
Sound Knowledge of Fabrication Codes like ASME, DIN, IBR.
Knowledge of Heat Treatment
Quality Management System for welding processes.
Selection & Implementation of more productive process.
Qualification of welding procedures
Qualification of Welders/Welding Operators.
Proficiency in welding process like SMAW, SAW, GTAW, FCAW, ESW
Implementation of welding processes in the shop.
Defect Analysis and Repair Planning.
Welding related developmental work.

Essential Qualification:

Degree / Diploma (Mech/Metallurgy/Production)

Essential Experience :

Should have relevant experience of minimum 2 years in pressure vessels and fabrication industry
Preffered Exp. in Pressure Vessel Industry

Special Skills Required :

Good Knowledge of welding processes, welding metallurgy
Good Communication Skills.
Computer Proficiency.
